Dave and I spent a beautiful sunny Saturday last weekend with family and friends celebrating my nephew's christening. I took a few snaps of the way we styled the reception that I wanted to share with you all, in case you were looking for inspiration for your next event!

I started the theming by selecting some beautiful striped decorative paper, which I then paired with a metallic copper paper. To tie in an overall theme for this event, I featured the striped paper on the vases, the guest invitations (see below) and also the party favours.

I have done my fair share of juice detoxes of late, and so I have an abundance of jars at home. Happy to put them to good use, I simply cut the striped paper down to size, then wrapped it around the jars, joining it with double sided tape. I then cut stripes of the copper paper, sticking it around the middle. To complete my homemade vases, I tied a little bow with string around each jar.

For the flowers, Mum and I visited the flower markets the morning before the event and selected a combination of poppies and ranunculus. This vibrant duo added some amazing colour to the table setting, making it impossible to forget that spring has well and truly arrived!
