Bay Ten Expresso
Are you a devotee of the bean and the bike? Well the newly opened Bay Ten Expresso is for you. This cafe promises to deliver a truly unique coffee experience. It's no accident that on rolling up the graffitied doors of this new Middlemiss Street cafe and looking out, the first thing one sees, apart from the iconic heritage warehouses on the northern approach to the Harbour Bridge, or the stunning century-old concrete walls that soar 10 metres from floor to ceiling,is, yep, you guessed it…it's the green cycle lane! Ten’s barista and owner Nathan Devlin shares the warehouse with The Body Mechanic, a specialist bike fit, gait analysis and physio outfit run by a bunch of elite athletes that caters to a growing band of urban athletes. With coffee being the hit of choice for the thousands of office workers who've taken to cycling as a way of commuting to work, this seems none other than a match made in heaven!
The owner Devlin has been seriously consumed by coffee for the past six years. Trained by world champion barista Paul Bassett, he’s one of a new breed of baristas pushing the bean beyond the bounds of short, long, frothy or flat. Bay Ten will offer a wide range of coffee styles including espresso, cold drip, pour over and cold brew using Devlin’s own special blend roasted to his specifications by White Horse Coffee.
Breakfast offerings are made to appeal to the fitness and health-conscious crowd that walks, runs or cycles past Bay Ten each morning, with the menu designed to be fast, fresh, wholesome and packed with energy. Devlin subscribes to the 'farm gate to plate' philosophy and has lined up a local grower to supply the fresh produce that will find its way into the lunchtime sandwich menu. Even the relishes are home-made to order!
Bay Ten Espresso is open Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 3.00pm. Located at Bay Ten, Middlemiss Street, Lavender Bay. For further information visit their Facebook Page.
